Buying Ready-mix concrete in Saudi Arabia
Ready-mix concrete is priced per cubic metre delivered, and the single biggest factor in who can quote you is batching plant distance. Concrete has a working life of roughly 90 minutes from batching, so a supplier 60 km from your site is not a supplier — no matter what their rate says. Filter on location before you filter on price. Specify the grade (commonly C25 to C50), slump, and maximum aggregate size. Then check the three items that make quotes look artificially cheap: pumping is usually charged separately by the hour or by volume; waiting time beyond an allowed window is billed per truck; and in a Saudi summer, chilled water or ice for temperature control is a real add-on, not a courtesy. Ask for the mix design and confirm the supplier will provide cube test results at 7 and 28 days. For any structure in contact with Gulf ground conditions, confirm whether sulphate-resisting cement is required in the mix — retrofitting that decision is not possible once poured.
